Curating ethically made homeware
The 6th Collective was founded with a clear mission - to celebrate small, independent British makers by curating ethically and sustainably made homeware. The founders’ vision was to encourage conscious consumerism, promoting the concept of buying fewer but better, long-lasting items meant to be passed down through generations. The brand faced a challenge in effectively communicating the high value and quality of their curated items to their audience, so they approached us to create an elevated and timeless brand identity that would resonate with their target customers.
To bring the brand to life, we chose an elegant font for the logo to represent the brand's sophistication and customised the letter ‘v’ to add a unique touch that draws attention to the softer elements of the design. We created a colour palette blending deep green and red tones with soft cream hues, which create a sense of timelessness and warmth. We then incorporated softly curved lines as branding elements, symbolizing the beautiful 'imperfections' found in each handmade homeware piece.
When it came to building the website, we recognized the need for a redesign that aligned seamlessly with the brand’s values and aesthetics. The old website lacked a clear system for navigating the 80+ products and failed to reflect the high quality of the homeware. To overcome this challenge, we designed a new website in Shopify to create a seamless user experience where customers could easily explore specific collections and categories. To celebrate each maker on the website, we designed a 'Shop more from …' section at the bottom of each product page, enabling customers to easily discover products from the same maker.
